2023 Murrumbidgee Irrigation Automation

Boots Civil is proud to collaborate with Murrumbidgee Irrigation in the ongoing modernisation of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation (MI) system. This vital project, supported by the Australian Government and in partnership with the NSW Government, is a cornerstone of the Off-farm Efficiency Program. Our contribution involved constructing regulators, outlets, culverts, and pipelines, pivotal in enhancing the efficiency and reliability of the region’s water supply.

Being accredited under the Federal Safety Commission scheme, we bring a level of trust and commitment to safety that is essential for projects of this size. Our involvement in this project goes beyond infrastructure development; it’s about being part of a larger vision. We take immense pride in contributing to improvements that not only enhance the MI system’s efficiency and reliability but also play a significant role in boosting farm productivity and fostering economic growth. Through our work, we are helping to achieve substantial water savings, thereby supporting the environmental sustainability of the region.

At Boots Civil, we are dedicated to projects that drive positive change and progress in the community, reinforcing our commitment to quality, safety, and the betterment of the Murrumbidgee region.

Karri Road Subdivision – Sorelli Estate, Leeton

At Boots Civil, we are proud to have partnered with Davis Sanders Homes in the creation of the Sorelli Estate, a new subdivision in Leeton ready to welcome 29 families.

Our comprehensive approach to this project involved several distinct but interconnected phases:

  • Roads and Associated Works: This phase was foundational, beginning with clearing and demolition, followed by topsoil stripping to prepare the land. Our team then executed precise earthworks and subgrade preparation, essential for laying a stable foundation. We crafted durable concrete pavements and installed necessary conduits. Services trenching was carried out meticulously, along with the installation of signs and line marking for safe and efficient road use.
  • Storm Water Drainage: We focused on efficient water management by supplying and installing drainage pipes and connecting house drains. The project also included an ‘as constructed’ survey to ensure the highest standards were met.
  • Water Reticulation: Our team expertly managed the supply and installation of water pipes and fire plugs. We connected these to the existing mains and made individual house service connections, ensuring a reliable water supply for each home.
  • Sewer Reticulation: The sewer system was a critical component, involving the construction of the main sewer line, along with the construction of manholes and inspection shafts to ensure long-term functionality and maintenance.
  • Storm Water Treatment and Discharge: To manage stormwater sustainably, we constructed swales and a detention basin, ensuring effective water treatment and discharge, while mitigating the impact on the local environment

2023 Murrumbidgee Irrigation Pipeline Package

The Murrumbidgee Irrigation Pipeline Package is part of the Federal Off-farm Efficiency Program and showcases Boots Civil’s expertise in major infrastructure development. Supported by the Australian Government and in partnership with the NSW Government, this project entailed the design, supply, and installation of three HDPE poly pipelines, prominently featuring the Lateral 175 with its 2.2km of 1200mm poly pipe.

As a local company deeply rooted in the community, our connection to the area brought a unique advantage to this project. We forged strong relationships with property owners, ensuring collaboration and understanding throughout the project’s duration. This local insight, combined with our skilled in-house team’s exceptional expertise in welding and installing pipelines, was instrumental in minimising the impact on local properties.

We pride ourselves on our ability to balance large-scale project execution with a personal, community-focused approach. Our team ensured that each property involved was not only undisturbed but left in an improved state post-construction. This project is a testament to our commitment to delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions, while simultaneously nurturing and maintaining the trust and respect of our local community.

Water NSW MACE Meter Replacement

With the NSW government endeavouring to ensure fair water usage across the state. We installed 5 large meters on the Murrumbidgee river. Meter ranged from 600 to 700mm, end insert and pit mount meters.

Terra Ag

As the MIA expands into a wider range of agricultural farming methods, our customer is focused on more efficient water distribution and meeting end user needs. The Terra Ag pipeline replaced an existing water distribution channel along Kidman Way & Thorner Road Griffith with 900m of HDPE pipe.

Stage 3 Automation

Automation in the water delivery infrastructure in the MIA creates the opportunity to deliver water that improved flexibility of farm systems and more effective management of water resources.

The stage 3 automation project included the upgrade and automation of over 100 regulating and outlet structures in the Leeton-Murrami area.
